Faculty
Christi Hinkley, Director, has been blessed to have taught several thousand dancers at The Academy of Dance Arts over the past 30 years. Many of our current dancers' moms were previous students of Mrs. Christi. ADA was founded by Jan Borum Goode in 1979 and the following year, Christi joined the ADA faculty teaching Ballet, Tap and Kinderdance classes. In 1992, Christi became the director of ADA when Jan Goode relocated to Hilton Head, SC with her family. Christi began dance training at age 5 in Sanford, North Carolina. She continued her study of ballet, tap, modern, jazz and acrobatics in both South Carolina and Georgia. Christi studied tap under Betty Jo Gregory in South Carolina, Mimi Hutson in Conyers, GA and Janet Borum in Canton, GA. Christi studied ballet under Gayle Mingledorph of Southern Ballet in Atlanta. Over the years, Christi continued her study of dance through Dance Educators of America, June Taylor and Al Gilbert dance programs. Christi is pleased to be the Director of ADA with an amazing staff. We look forward to another thirty years of sharing our love of dance in Canton!
